Carys Gittins
Carys Gittins is a flautist from Mid Wales, currently based in London. She graduated with a First Class Master's degree from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a first class degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, where she won the Ken Smith Flute Prize 2015, 2016 and 2017. She was the winner of the Instrumental Blue Ribband at the National Eisteddfod in Cardiff and has been a member of the London Sinfonietta Academy and Chippiang Campden Festival Academy Orchestra. Most recently, she has performed with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and is an extra-list player for orchestras such as Sinfonia Cymru, Orpheus Sinfonia and Birmingham Royal Ballet.
Carys is particularly passionate about enhancing the lives of people living with Dementia and Alzheimer's and often plays and sings in specialist care homes across Wales and England.
Agnieszka Żyniewicz
London-based violist Agnieszka Żyniewicz has established a solid reputation as a chamber and orchestral musician in the UK and across Europe.
After her studies at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław, where she was awarded a Rektor’s scholarship for the best students, Agnieszka moved to London and completed her postgraduate studies with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama under professor Matthew Jones, receiving the distinguished Concert Recital Diploma.
She became a member of the elite Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Gustav Mahler Academy, and London Symphony Orchestra String Experience scheme. She is also a violist of the Zephyr Quartet based in London and c / o chamber orchestra based in Berlin.
Agnieszka loves to come back to her hometown in Poland where she can spend her free time in the forest.
Lise Vandersmissen
Belgian harpist Lise Vandersmissen lives with her harps on a blue houseboat on the London canals. When she is not playing the harp, she loves to knit jumpers and run along the canal.
Lise won prizes in international competitions in Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands. She was awarded the Guildhall Harp Prize and was selected to be a Live Music Now musician, Concordia Foundation Artist and a UKHA Emerging Artist. She won a place at the London Sinfonietta Academy and the Académie Camac in France.
Lise travels with her modern pedal harp and her Italian Triple Harp to perform across Europe and Asia. She recently completed a six-month residency in Hong Kong where she was teaching and performing at an international harp academy. She just recorded her first solo album TRANSFORMED, which consists of her own transcriptions. Lise is one of de young artists "De Twintigers" of Klara Radio (Belgian classical radio).
Lise has played as a concerto soloist with orchestras in Poland, Belgium, The Netherlands, and the UK, both on the modern pedal harp and on the Italian Triple Harp.
